- Kate also was known for her oil painting, she won the frist prize in the Fine Art Contest of the 8th district of the Texas Federation of Women’s Club. Ball oil paintings was of Mexican and early western subjects.

- A Christmas card was designed by Kate and it sold more than 16,000 Copies nationwide, when it was published by American Artist Group in New York.

- Her architect father Ernest Krause, built the first EFamed Structure in El Paso, in 1882 on 906 North Stanton, which became the family home. Later Kate unsuccessfully fought against it’s demolition.
