Preservation Symposium: Baron Rudolph von Ripper Mural  – John Hamilton, former historian of Fort Bliss, unveils the mystery of a mural painted by an Austrian aristocrat, who was imprisoned by the Nazis for his stance against Fascism. After the bombing of Pearl Harbor, Von Ripper became an American citizen and was stationed briefly at Fort Bliss, where he painted this  disintegrating tribute to freedom on a hospital wall.  To learn more about the historical significance of this mural and why it should be preserved in its physical form, you can register for the event here.
